India's first major election since the start of the #covid19 pandemic is taking place in the easter state of #Bihar.

Polling will be held in three phases and votes will be counted on 10 Nov.
#Bihar is one of India's poorest states.

It has been rules by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party and the regional Janta Dal United party for over 10years.

Since Mr Modi imposed a strick lockdown in March, millions of poor migrant workers from Bihar lost their jobs. Unemployment had the cost of living have been major election issues in the state.
